OVERVIEW OF research lines and approaches considered
In the colorful cartoon below I summarize key processes I have been exploring during my post-doctoral activities, and main methodological approaches I have considered. My research interests encompass tree physiological responses (i.e., photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, transpiration, water-use efficiency) to environmental limitations (e.g., drought, nutrient) and anthropogenic disturbances (changes in atmospheric deposition and atmospheric CO2 concentration, pollution), spatial and temporal changes in ecosystem carbon and water fluxes and their drivers, nitrogen cycling, with particular focus on microbial communities in the phyllosphere and their role in processing atmospheric nitrogen.
